rAAV-mTH-ChRmine-mCherry
This AAV expresses ChRmine-EYFP driven by a neuron hSyn promoter. hSyn is a Human synapsin 1 gene promoter. ChRmine is a recently discovered pump-like cation-conducting channelrhodopsin, exhibits puzzling properties, such as large photocurrents, red-shifted spectrum, and extreme light sensitivity.

Functional Gene Details
ChRmine: The excitation wavelength is 635nm, which can provide larger photocurrent and can also generate wave peaks under low-frequency stimulation, so it can be used for manipulations that require lower heat or deeper brain areas. ChRmine can achieve transcranial light activation of specific neural circuits, including midbrain and brainstem structures, to a staggering depth of 7mm, with millisecond precision, and this behavioral modulation does not require surgical intervention. At the same time, the brain areas manipulated by deep transcranial optogenetics were not damaged by tissue heating or other phototoxic effects.
